Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Team Leader across South Ayrshire.
What you will do:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Team Leader to join our senior leadership team in Children’s Health Services in South Ayrshire. You will be responsible for operational line management of Health Visitors within South Ayrshire, and for leading and driving improvement across the service. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who is driven to build and develop the service, and who can work collaboratively with colleagues across the HSCP to improve outcomes for infants, children, and their families.
As well as line management, we are looking for an individual with knowledge and experience of quality improvement, and a strong understanding of the wider strategic objectives of the partnership in relation to children’s services. The successful candidate will have a SCPHN qualification, and have a sound knowledge of Health Visiting practice, and the current policy drivers relating to early years, including an extensive knowledge of GIRFEC, the UNCRC and The Promise.
They will be responsible for operational management of the team, providing clinical leadership, maintaining standards, including budgetary management, clinical governance, staff training and development and clinical audit. You must be strong team players who can provide evidence of professional development, be effective leaders, and be motivated to inspire others and support teams through change.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Professional qualification in Nursing
Education to Degree level
Post Registration Qualification in Public Health Nursing. Health Visiting/School Nursing
Management qualification is desirable
Current clinical experience of working with and/or within Health Visiting /School Nursing
Hours:
37 per week
UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
UK Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so
