Applications are invited for the above post based within the West of Scotland Regional Heart and Lung Centre at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in . The hospital is the regional tertiary centre for cardiac surgery and complex electrophysiology for the West of Scotland and one of two regional PCI centres. It also houses the Scottish Advanced Heart Failure service, Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service and the Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit. A full range of investigative, outpatient and inpatient facilities are provided on site including 5 cath labs (one biplane) and state-of the art echo, CT and MR imaging. Last year the hospital performed around 6800 cath lab and 470 device procedures. This included 2800 PCI’s of which approximately 750 were PPCI’s The department has 1 dedicated EP lab which provides 660 procedures per annum.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated, highly trained Cardiologist with extensive training in coronary intervention. The post will be high volume coronary intervention appointment with a full share on the regional PPCI rota. The successful candidate will also participate in daytime CCU rota and outpatient cardiology in the partnering health boards.
A demonstrable subspecialty interest is essential. Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the register within 6 months of the interview date.
