The Post:
In line with Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates guidance, National Services Division (NSD) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Clinician (Neonatal) for the Scottish Perinatal Network. The Neonatal Lead will provide clinical leadership to the Network jointly with the Obstetric and Midwifery Leads. The appointment is for a fixed term up 31 March 2025.
The Network Lead Clinician will have a key strategic role in working nationally with clinical and non-clinical colleagues, third sector organisations, Scottish Government and other stakeholders to drive forward the development of an effective, integrated, multidisciplinary service for neonatal, maternity and perinatal care throughout Scotland. The work of the Scottish Perinatal Network will also support the implementation of recommendations in The Best Start, the Scottish Government’s five-year plan for maternity and neonatal care in Scotland.
The Candidate:
Applicants will be leaders in neonatal care with experience in the provision and development of neonatal services. A proven record in leading change, the ability to work across traditional organisational, geographical and professional boundaries, and a demonstrable understanding of the ethos of managed clinical networks are essential.
Applicants must have a current substantive role as an NHS Scotland employee and have the agreed support of their line manager for this post to be incorporated into their job plan. The employing NHS Board will be recompensed for the agreed sessional commitment on the basis of evidence of actual backfill costs incurred to release the individual to fulfil the Lead Clinician role requirements.
Location and Working Pattern:
Hybrid working.
2 Programmed Activities (PAs) / 1 day per week.
