The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity based within a new purpose built home located within Bellahouston Park. The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting and progressive illnesses and provide support for their families and carers.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Locum Specialty Doctor to join our medical team until end of July 2025. The successful candidate will join a team of 3 Consultants, 4 Specialty Doctors and an experienced multi-disciplinary team. Specialty Trainees in Palliative Medicine and general practice also rotate through our unit. Experience in palliative Medicine is desirable but not essential, support and education would be tailored for the successful candidate.
The Hospice is a modern Specialist Palliative Care Unit providing inpatient facilities for fourteen patients, as well as Community Palliative Care Services, Day Hospice and Outpatient Clinics. There are strong links with local Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Teams, and an established Education Department.
You will provide care to patients, families, and carers, across a variety of care settings, who have complex pain, symptom, spiritual and psychosocial needs which require Specialist Palliative Care intervention. You will deliver high quality holistic care to patients with complex palliative care needs, including non-cancer conditions, e.g., COPD and heart failure and neurological conditions such as MND.
We are committed to delivering high standard palliative care to individuals with progressive, life limiting conditions across South Glasgow.
