Medical Ward 1
Band 6 £39,912 - £48,635 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,349 per annum
37 hours per week
Permanent post - part time hours would be considered
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Sick Children’s Nurse to join the nursing team in Medical Ward 1 at Western Isles Hospital.
Medical Ward 1 has 8 Adult inpatient General Medical beds, 4 High Dependency beds and 3 Paediatric beds.
Applicants will have RN 8 Children’s level registration or be dual registered with the NMC and preferably a hold current Paediatric Advanced Life Support certificate.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic charge nurse who will have:
* The ability to demonstrate clinical excellence in nursing practice.
* The ability to facilitate and manage change within the clinical environment.
* Commitment to the delivery of evidence-based care.
* Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a flexible team orientated approach.
* Provide nursing leadership and expertise and contribute to the education, training and support of fellow health professionals.
* Provide clinical and operational support to the SCN and Charge Nurses.
The applicant should be a skilled practitioner with at least 2 years’ post registration experience in an acute setting caring for children and be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a flexible team orientated approach. The practitioner should work well as an individual but also within the wider clinical teams.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
