The NHS Tayside Digital Directorate is looking to recruit a Systems Support Technician within the Unified Communications Team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Service Delivery team as a key technical resource. The Team is responsible for IP Telephony Services and associated Unified Communications tools to users throughout NHS Tayside. Duties will consist of the day-to-day BAU work inclusive of handling 2nd line support calls in addition to involvement in the varying key project/service improvement work as and when required.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate should have an understanding of Unified Communication Technologies. Have knowledge of Computer Networks and awareness of IPT technologies. Have previous experience supporting technical requests and have notable experience of working in an ICT environment.
The post requires education to a minimum of diploma level, preferably in the IT field, or relevant ICT support experience and should include the following:
• An understanding of Unified Communication technologies.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem resolution, strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Awareness of emerging technologies and trends.
• Focus on Customer Service.
• Able to work to deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in order to liaise with 3rd party contractors and colleagues both verbally and written.
This role will include the above but is not restricted to these responsibilities.
A key element of the role includes supporting your colleagues with technical decision making including the production of knowledge base articles as and when required.

This post will be based at Maryfield House in Dundee, though travel to other NHS Tayside sites will be necessary. Participation in a rotational on call rota will be required.
Hours of work will be 37 hours per week.
