Work Pattern: Fixed term, Full Time, 37 hours per week.
Fixed-term or Secondment** until 30 June 2026 (18 months FTC)

Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The Finance Directorate operates under a Finance Business Partnering ethos to support NES in delivering its strategic objectives and in the management of its £600m annual budget within a robust and proportionate governance structure.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Finance team at NES responsible for delivering management accounting services.

Working within the Management Information Systems (MIS) and Analysis team, you will have the opportunity to use your unique skills and experience supporting the Finance Business Partnering approach to effect real change within NES and further afield.

What We Love to See
Finance Analysts offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:
Proven experience working finance department, ideally in a management accounting based role
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and confidently at all levels in the workplace
Demonstrable experience of using advanced MS Excel (and other software) for financial reporting and analysis
Ability to work on own initiative, to effectively organise and prioritise own workload to meet strict deadlines
Experience of working collaboratively and flexibly within in a team, and across other workstreams and departments
A self-starter with a customer service focus and a high level of motivation and initiative
Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
Ability to proactively identify and communicate improvements to processes and systems
Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex information and language simple for diverse internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
