An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and forward-thinking practice as a 6 session salaried GP.   

• GP training practice who value delivering high quality, patient-centred care.  Strong supportive team ethos with regular team meetings and daily team coffee breaks. Protected weekly administrative time.
• Current list size of ~4000 with the planned increase to ~5500 in January 2025 when an additional branch surgery is added to the team.
• Our main surgery is based within the recently built Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall, Orkney. Our two branch surgeries are in Shapinsay and North Ronaldsay which involves a short ferry or plane commute from Kirkwall. These surgeries provide a unique opportunity to practice in a rural primary care setting with the support from the resident ANP.
• The job plan can be flexible to work across sites providing unique variety, whilst retaining traditional GP benefits in a rural community within a highly skilled and experienced team.
• Our current team comprises of 4 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 1 GP retainer, 2 PNs, 1 HCA and an experienced administrative team. We also have the support of the wider PCIP team. The Golden Hello scheme will apply to those who are eligible.
• With breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, excellent schools and leisure facilities it’s no surprise that Orkney has frequently been voted the best place to live in Scotland.
