Inventory Stock Controller

The Post: 
This is a challenging opportunity to help harness the buying power of more than £1.5 billion spent each year on across the NHS in Scotland. National Procurement, the Procurement Centre of Expertise for Health, works in collaboration with Health Boards to ensure the highest level of patient care through the provision of a wide range of goods and services via a series of best value National Contracts and Distribution Services.

The National Distribution facility operates over 3 shift patterns, to include Early/Back/Day Shift rotation, the successful applicant will work a rotating Day Shift (0600-1400) Back Shift (1400-2200), and Day Shift (0800-1600).

National Procurement Distribution Centre operates within Canderside: 150,000 sq ft warehouse, Titan: 115,000 sq ft warehouse, and Coddington 165,000 sq ft warehouse in all aspects of Good’s In, Pick and Dispatch.

Your role will be to control the in-house inventory within the warehouse ensuring depot stock and availability targets are met, carry out ABC cycle counts and correct/fix day-to-day operational problems of inventory control. You will also ensure compliance with NHSS Logistics health, safety and security procedures and adhere to risk assessments and the development of safe systems of work.

The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience of working within a similar FMCG warehouse or logistics role, with demonstrable inventory control experience, ideally gained within an FMCG warehouse.

An ability to develop and learn new skills, follow instructions and procedures while working both as part of a team and on own initiative within a fast-moving environment are essential.

Working Pattern:
Early/Day/Back Shift Rotation (0600-1400/1400-2200/0800-1600) – 37.5 hours per week. 

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
