Band 7 Advanced Practice Therapeutic Radiographer

SABR & IGRT Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team and take on this recently established advanced practice post.

As a successful candidate, you’ll lead the radiography team in all aspect of stereotactic adaptive radiotherapy (SABR) service delivery in Aberdeen. This is for lung and oligometastatic disease. This post has responsibilities for clinical service delivery, staff training, growing audit and research, as well as providing SABR education both locally and within Scotland. Where indicated, there may involvement within the wider MDT and in peripheral clinics.

You need to be a clinically experienced and innovative thinker! Able to successfully embed this exciting role locally, whilst also connecting with colleagues across Scotland to develop a supportive SABR delivery network.

Our Department has:

  • 2 Varian Ethos
  • 1 Varian Truebeam
  • Cannon CT Simulator
  • HDR brachytherapy with a purpose built theatre facility
  • New! Surface-guided radiotherapy, implementation, Spring 2025
  • New! Varian Truebeam with 6DoF couch & Hypersight, Spring 2025

Radiographer-led:

  • Adaptors
  • Breast simulation sessions
  • Image review
  • On-treatment Review Clinic
