The Post:
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Information Security and Governance Team, part of the Digital and Security Directorate at NSS. As an integral part of the Security Consultancy Team, you will advise on the application of suitable controls to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems designed to deliver safe and effective health and care services to Scotland’s citizens. You will work with a dynamic and progressive Team, capable of providing subject matter expertise, advice, direction and leadership to all NSS Directorates and to other NHSScotland Health Boards. You will also have the opportunity to shape a growing consultancy capability in information security and governance, that will have national impact by supporting the NSS mission to deliver safe, effective and efficient solutions for the national health service.
The Candidate:
You will be educated to degree level with an appropriate postgraduate qualification or have extensive demonstrable practical experience in the fields of information security and governance. You will be passionate about the protection of data, and up to date with the latest regulations regarding information governance and data protection. You will also have a broad understanding of the types of controls that can be applied to mitigate information security and data protection risks within a large scale organisational environment. Experience of working in healthcare and with cloud based technology solutions which includes Microsoft Azure and O365 will be a distinct advantage. You should be comfortable with complex change projects and in carrying out comprehensive risk assessments and communicating and collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders to mitigate risks within appetite. You will enjoy working in a people-centric environment and role model our values as an organisation in carrying out your role.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
