Relief Assistant Chef
The Balfour
Band 3 £28,456 - £30,585 including Distant Islands Allowance pro rata per annum
Bank (including weekend work)
The Catering Team provides 365 days per year cover which attracts enhanced rates (37% - 74%)
• All time on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8 pm and before 6 am - £19.90 - £21.41 per hour.
• Sundays and Public Holidays (all day) - £25.05 - £26.97 per hour.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Relief Assistant Chef to work within the Catering Team at The Balfour to provide assistance in all aspects of food preparation and production.
The Catering Service provides a high-quality patient meal service to the Balfour, providing 3 meals per day for up to 43 patients. A public restaurant service is also provided for staff and members of the public, serving upwards of 200 meals per day.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small team, providing a high standard of kitchen support under the direction of the Supervisor Chef and Catering Team Lead.
If there are applicants that do not have a elementary food hygiene certificate, they will be able to undertake training towards this qualification which will be provided by NHS Orkney, through other partners.
