We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Support Workers to join our Pharmacy Stores and Distribution Team. You will need to be flexible, organised, work well within a team and have a positive attitude. You will be used to working in a busy challenging environment, be adaptable and willing to learn new skills.
The role will include receiving medicine deliveries from wholesalers, issuing inpatient medicines to wards, carrying out ward top-ups, providing a porter service to deliver medicines throughout the hospital and providing a driver service to the outlying facilities.
These posts involve extensive physical activity and manual handling. This includes walking long distances throughout the hospital, using trolleys and pallet trucks to transport goods, driving a mid-size NHS van, loading goods on to and off of trolleys and moving and handling boxes of various sizes and weights. Previous experience in a Pharmacy or store/warehouse environment is desirable. Post holders will be expected to work towards an NVQ2 qualification in pharmacy services once in post. The post holder(s) will be required to participate in weekend and public holiday rotas.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.
