An exciting opportunity has arisen for a locum consultant post with sub-specialty interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Service in NHS Lanarkshire.

Main Duties of the Role

To provide inpatient and outpatient Orthopaedic services and to provide additional support to the Foot and Ankle service, with a focus on trauma.

NHS Lanarkshire seeks to appoint a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in Foot and Ankle surgery to join our multidisciplinary team. The post would include a full commitment to adult and paediatric trauma in the Wishaw Trauma Unit which is part of the West of Scotland Major Trauma Network. The main focus on the role will be trauma (theatre for general and subspecialist case as well as scheduled trauma ward rounds) but the post will also offer some elective practice based at the other acute hospitals in Lanarkshire, including the elective unit at Hairmyres Hospital. The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis (including up to 2 non-DCC) but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. If full-time, up to 2 EPA’s may be available to undertake additional clinical activity.
