Post: Project Support Manager

Location: Waverley Gate (office to due to re-locate early 2025 to Westport)

Salary: AfC Band 5 - 37 hrs per week (Fixed Term – 1year)

Who are we

Public Health and Health Policy improve and protect the health of the people of Lothian.  We work in Partnership locally to reduce health inequalities and improve population health.  We are made up of four main areas of work:

  • Health Protection who works to protect the health of the local population from communicable and infectious diseases and environmental hazards. (Delivered via an East Region model along with another three health boards i.e. NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley and NHS Borders.)
  • Population Health who works with partners and communities to improve population health and health inequalities by focusing on the social determinants of health.
  • Health Care Public Health who works to maximise the population benefits of health care while reducing inequalities.

Our Directorate employs 160 (whole time equivalent) staff approximately.

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the East Region Health Protection Team which sits within the departments of Public Health in four health board areas: NHS Borders, NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley and NHS Lothian.

The post holder will ensure they support the project plan organisational change processes for the four boards alongside developing service level agreements between the boards for financial management and governance.  They will support the project team to transition the service to having a single employer.

The post holder will require excellent communication skills to help facilitate change within the four board areas. A background in managing change and projects in large organisations would be desirable. The post holder will work closely with the ERHPS service manager and Project Team Manager.

This role will be hybrid working with 2 days minimum requirement for being in the office each week.
