NHS TAYSIDE

CLINICAL FELLOW (ST1+ level) in EMERGENCY MEDICINE

FIXED TERM POST 6 months from Jan 2025

Either 1x Full time post or 2x 50% WTE posts

Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow (ST1+ level) in Emergency Medicine in Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary. The post is to fill current vacancies and to allow us to deliver our current model of Emergency Medicine across Tayside.

The successful applicant(s) will join an enthusiastic and innovative team to further enhance the provision of Emergency Medicine at Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary. NHS Tayside has developed an Unscheduled Care system that proactively manages unscheduled ED attendance thereby minimising surges in demand and maintaining good patient flow, supporting achievement of the national 4 hour standard.

Consultant supervision and support will be given so the successful applicants can develop their clinical and non-technical skills, and gain experience in managing the full spectrum of Emergency Medicine presentations. Working at ST1+ level equivalence over time is anticipated.

This rota is a full shift pattern and includes weekend and out of hours working across both sites.

We are looking to recruit either 1x full time colleague, or 2x 50% less than full time colleagues. We plan for this post to commence at the earliest opportunity in January following the completion of the recruitment process.

Informal enquiries are welcome by contacting Dr Kieran Smith, Consultant in Emergency Medicine by emailing kieran.smith2@nhs.scot

Closing Date: Fri 3rd Jan - may close earlier if sufficient suitable applications are received.
