Band 6 Occupational Therapist, Community Rehabilitation and Priority Response

Full Time 37 hours per week (permanent)

£39,912 - £48,635 (per annum)


An interesting and challenging opportunity has arisen in Ellon Community Rehab Team.


We are looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our community rehab team, based in the Health Centre in Ellon. The post holder will provide full assessment and treatment programmes for patients living in their own homes, they will also provide a priority response to prevent hospital admission and support hospital discharges from acute services using a rehab and enablement model.  

There is a wide variety of conditions and complex needs in the patient population. Multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working is essential for seamless community care and the Occupational Therapist is a vital part of this, and as such the post holder will work within a well-established Multi-Disciplinary Team.

The post holder will require excellent communication and organisational skills, and be able to demonstrate relevant experience with a wide variety of clinical conditions. Experience in caseload management, and physical rehabilitation in the community is desirable.

A valid UK driving licence and a car available for business use is essential.


Training of students is an integral part of the job, as is service development within the OT team, and the Health and Social Care Partnership Teams.


We offer regular support, supervision, CPD and development opportunities in line with TURAS personal development plan.


'There will be an expectation to provide services over 7 days, including weekends, public holidays and extended hours, where required, to meet the need of services'
