The Post:

This post is a 24 hour per week permanent post within the Aberdeen and North-East Scotland Blood Donor Centre Collection Team.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking nurse who enjoys working as part of a team. You will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. An active interest in training and quality assurance would also be beneficial. Within your role you will contribute to the overall management and smooth running of whole blood and blood component sessions ensuring donors feel welcome, comfortable and valued. You will be required to undertake venepuncture and medical selection duties.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.

Location and Working Pattern:

The position is based in Aberdeen and North-East Scotland Blood Donor Centre; however extensive travel throughout the region is required.

You must be flexible and willing to work variable hours.

The work pattern for this post is Monday to Sunday, 24 hours per week and includes late evenings.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
