To obtain blood samples, as requested, from patients by venepuncture ensuring patient and personal safety through adherence to Divisional Protocols, Protocols, Policies and Procedures and relevant Health and Safety legislation at all times. To ensure correct labelling of blood samples in preparation for being forwarded to the laboratory for testing.

To provide cover in the absence of nursing/medical to ensure collections are taken.

Undertake associated clerical and patients centred duties as delegated by the registered nurse.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record.
