The shift pattern for this position is 5 out of 7.
Glasgow is a vibrant city bursting with character and personality where you will find world famous visitor attractions, a contemporary food and drink scene and a legendary nightlife. Within South Sector the AHP teams work together supporting each other to ensure we produce high quality care for our patients. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Generic HCSW to join the Surgical and Critical Care AHP team in the South Sector. This post involves supporting the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff in delivering a high quality service to patients. The successful candidate will be based within the Critical Care and Surgical ward environment. The applicant will be expected to carry their own caseload and to treat patients as delegated by a qualified Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapists and according to set treatment protocols. Candidate must have previous experience of working with adults and have the skills to engage with and motivate others.

Candidates should display flexibility and evidence a strong team work ethic. Training will be provided to allow you to undertake clinical and non-clinical duties. You will be fully supported by the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff and will participate in supervision and personal development planning to help fulfil continuous professional development. The post may require the post holder to participate in seven day working.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
