Opportunity to Gain Experience in Aberdeen City’s Drug and Alcohol Service

3 days per week (up to 22.3 hours) Fixed Term 15 months

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join Aberdeen HSCP Drug and Alcohol Service’s team. This is a fixed term post for 15 months to support service participation in a national research project. Secondments will be considered if supported by current line manager. This is the perfect opportunity to gain experience in the field of substance use.

You will be based with our multi-disciplinary drug and alcohol teams at Royal Cornhill Hospital and the Timmermarket Clinic. You will be supported by our Lead and Advanced Pharmacists with operational direction from Aberdeen’s Drug and Alcohol leadership team.

You will be responsible for delivering a specialised clinical pharmacy service to support the Alcohol and Drugs Service.

We are looking for candidates with good clinical knowledge and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates should have an understanding of the unique pressures that are faced by people who use drugs or alcohol, provide a patient centred approach to care and challenge stigma where it arises. You will have a role in providing pharmaceutical support, advice and training to staff and students, to act as a role model and to participate in audit and research.

Provisional interview dates have been set for Tuesday 25th February.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates
