NHS Grampian has a position for an experienced, motivated Nurse or Midwife to lead our Infant Feeding service on a temporary basis to cover Maternity leave for a period of 11 months.
You will manage a small team consisting of three Midwives and three Health care Support workers who are all working on projects and quality improvement. You will work collaboratively with the team within Moray also as well as the multi disciplinary team including obstetricians, neonatal staff, health visiting, peer support and public health.
You should have excellent communication skills and a desire to support women in the hospital, home and community setting across Aberdeen City and shire through both face to face and video support through the near me platform which is used successfully every day.
Maternity Services within NHS Grampian achieved UNICEF Baby friendly Initiative (UNICEF BFI) accreditation in 2023 and we are now being assessed for the GOLD award for UNICEF BFI. Your role will be to fully support and encourage service development based on the action plan made with UNICEF.
You will work closely with all staff and external organisations to continue to work within the baby friendly initiative standards to improve and build on the service we provide. You should be confident and competent to deliver staff education and training and be keen in developing an improved training package to staff.
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of audits and analytical skills are required to undertake this role.
You should be motivated to support women to overcome feeding challenges and work collaboratively with staff at all levels evidencing good practice and be an advocate for your team and Maternity.
