We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a within the Dundee Institute for Healthcare Simulation (DIHS) in our Clinical Skills Centre, to develop and deliver simulation-based education for MBChB students.


This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months.


The aim of this post is to provide a trainee, with an interest in education, the opportunity to develop as a medical educator within the exciting field of simulation. We envisage this to be a twelve-month post aimed at those who wish to build on their personal teaching experience to develop expertise in educational theory and practice and undertake supervised educational research within the field of simulation.

The successful applicant will:

  • Work as a member of the clinical skills academic team to develop and deliver the MBChB clinical skills teaching and assessment programme.
  • Develop knowledge of the principles in the design and development of an educational intervention utilising simulation.
  • Develop their abilities to plan and facilitate simulation-based education learning events, within the simulation centre.
  • Undertake a research or scholarship project within the field of simulation-based education, with the aim of conference presentation and/or publication.
  • Gain experience of the organisation and delivery of a higher education degree programme.



We are looking for someone who:


  • Has full UK GMC registration.
  • Has the ability to support students and trainees in their learning experience.
  • Has sufficient clinical experience for the needs of the post.
