Radiographer

Band 5 - £31,892 to £39,735 per annum

Plus £1,349 Distant Island Allowance per annum

37 hours per week

Are you a Radiographer, looking for a job that is a bit different? Working within Radiology in the Western Isles is very unique! Our committed Radiographers won the Society of Radiographer’s Team of the Year (Scotland), Team of the Year UK and Patient’s Choice Award for Exceptional Care in 2023.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 5 Radiographer to work in our busy Radiology Department. This position would be suitable for newly qualified Radiographers, with an interest in remote and rural working.

You will have the opportunity to work in a state of the art department, using DR, Digital Fluoroscopy, Multislice CT, OPG, DXA and mobile imaging alongside a friendly team of Radiographers, Sonographers.

The department undertakes advanced Radiographer-led imaging including CT Colons and Coronary Angiograms. Imaging is undertaken for a range of specialities – Respiratory, Oncology, Urology, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Gynecology, Peadiatrics etc.

We are committed to providing the best care possible to our population – applicants should have understanding of Realistic Medicine and how this impacts Radiology.

The post will be based at the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, with occasional visits to the Uist and Barra Hospital in Benbecula to provide short Radiography locums. There is an on call from home commitment with this post.

The successful candidate will:

  • hold DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
  • have understanding of the specific challenges of remote and rural healthcare delivery
  • NHS experience
  • hold HCPC registration
