An opportunity has arisen to join our team at PSS as a Pharmacy Support Worker at an exciting time for the service. Applicants must be able to follow written instructions and accurately record information is essential. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Duties include assisting with the manufacture and packing of a variety of medicines to high standards and meeting tight deadlines within Sterile and Aseptic Production teams.
NHS Scotland Pharmaceutical ‘Specials’ Service (PSS) provides a national service, hosted and managed by NHS Tayside, to ensure that patients across the UK have access to quality unlicensed medicines that are not commercially available from licensed manufacturers or are in short supply, and to provide Investigational Medicinal Products for clinical trials and research across the UK. PSS operates under licence from a purpose-built, state of the art facility on the Ninewells Hospital site in Dundee. Product range includes creams, ointments, gels, suppositories, pessaries, enemas, oral and topical liquids, eye drops, eye lotions, pre-filled syringes, injections and infusions which are required to meet the clinical needs of patients. Other services include medicines re-packing, over-labelling and assembly of emergency pouches.
The aim of the production department is to provide a responsive and high-quality service which ensures all products are fit for their intended use and do not place patients at risk due to inadequate quality.

This post is suitable for individuals who enjoy learning and working with accuracy and attention to detail, as part of a team. Hours of work are: Monday – Thursday 8am to 4:30pm and Friday 7:45am to 12:45pm.
