NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position is Monday- Friday 9am-5pm.
Within the eating disorder service, care is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team in collaboration with partner agencies. It is based on the best available evidence for practice both logical and psychological, and is planned and delivered in a manner which promotes personal choice. The clinical team works collaboratively with service users, carers and their representatives to ensure that care needs are identified and met. The service offers a group programme in addition to individual intervention. The Community Eating Disorder Service also supports four eating disorder beds in Armadale Ward at for inpatient treatment of eating disorders as required.
The service provides continuity across inpatient and community-based secondary NHS mental health care that is based on the principles of equality, dignity and respect and which takes into account spiritual and cultural diversity. An opportunity has arisen for a 37 hours band 6 Occupational Therapist on a permanent basis. Applications are invited from Occupational Therapists with an interest in eating disorders and a sound knowledge of general mental health. You will have experience of team working, problem solving, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders. You should also have the necessary experience to work as an autonomous practitioner in the community with a complex caseload.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
