There are two posts available:

1 permanent, part-time post of 28.5 hours per week, with a variable shift pattern.

1 fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a variable shift pattern. This post is fixed-term for 1 year.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Band 5 post Theatres, Royal Hospital for children

The Royal Hospital for Children are delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for Band 5 Theatre Practitioners.

We are looking for well-motivated, hardworking Paediatric & Adult trained Nurses and ODP’s to join our dynamic theatre team.

We are looking for a positive, hardworking, flexible & friendly team player, engaged for change and with a passion for high standards of care.

The successful candidate will be part of a large multidisciplinary specialty and will work together with the rest of the theatre department to promote team work and quality care.

Once you have completed an induction period you would be expected to cover a variety of shifts including early, late, weekends and on-calls. The posts are full-time and offer 37 hours per week. We work on a rotational basis, mainly working 10 hour shift patterns.

The suite of 11 theatres encompasses a variety of specialties, inclusive of trauma, Cardiac Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Craniofacial, Cleft, Max Fax, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Gastroenterology, ENT, Respiratory, Medical, Haematology & services in outlying areas, including PICU, NICU, E.D, The Beatson, CT & MRI. We also have a Cath Lab & an IR suite. This variety will give you great learning potential with opportunities to rotate within the specialties.

All new starts will be offered a preceptor and be supported to complete induction competencies within their new role.
