Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly skilled SLT to lead the work currently underway as part of the service level agreement with South Ayrshire Council Education department. This is an internal development opportunity.

What you will do:

The Speech and Language Therapy team for Children and Young People delivers services at universal, targeted and individualised levels of care and aims to support the wellbeing needs of children, and their families, at the earliest opportunity by working in collaboration with our communities.

This post forms part of the service for Children and Young People and, together with the team leads, you will support the leadership and governance of speech and language therapy services for children, young people, their families and carers in collaboration with local partners. You will be the key lead for the ASN and Equity contracts with Education, as well as leading on the DLD and Neurodevelopmental standards work.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You will hold:

  • University Degree or equivalent (3 years ordinary degree/4 year’s Honours degree).
  • Certificate to practise from HCPC (Health Care Professions Council).
  • Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (desirable).

You will be a highly skilled practitioner with extensive clinical experience. Experience of line management, clinical leadership and quality improvement are desirable.

Regular support and supervision and opportunities to enhance skills will be provided in line with Turas.

You will have strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work constructively with a range of people.

Hours:

37 hours per week.

This post is full time although alternative hours (eg part time / job share) will be considered. This post is funded until 31st March 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for the development of leadership skills.
