The shift pattern for this position is full-time, Monday – Sunday, days and nights.

The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital are looking to recruit Health Care Support Workers in our Perioperative department.

Our specialties include:

  • Major General Surgery
  • Urology, Renal
  • Vascular
  • Orthopaedics including spinal
  • ENT
  • Gynaecology
  • Trauma and Emergencies.

You will support the Registered Practitioners carry out their Perioperative duties in both the recovery and theatre department. A caring disposition preferably with experience working in the Perioperative or caring environment is preferred together with the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will have effective written and verbal communication and numeracy skills and the ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment. Ability to undertake and complete theatre competency based training programme for Health Care Support Workers including meeting the Health Care Support Worker Mandatory Induction Standards and adhering to the Code of Conduct. You will be required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service which presently runs over a seven day week and 24hrs. Ability to participate in a regular rotational shift pattern is essential. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
