An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking and enthusiastic pharmacist to provide professional and clinical leadership to cancer pharmacy services across NHS Borders. With a base in the pharmacy department at Borders General Hospital you will work in an integrated team of senior pharmacists and technicians, and with the MDT of the cancer centre and the palliative care team. This is an opportunity to develop advanced practice in cancer and palliative care services, expanding roles and working at regional level within the South East Scotland Cancer Network (SCAN).

You will work in a flexible, evolving and innovative way, maximising an integrated multidisciplinary approach to deliver pharmaceutical care and patient safety in the outpatient, inpatient and community setting across the geography of a rural health board.

You will be an experienced pharmacist independent prescriber who can demonstrate a high level of therapeutic knowledge, practical skills and diverse experience with a clear understanding of the issues involved in providing high quality patient-centred care. Good team working and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to provide professional leadership to take forward service development and transfer strategy into reality to ensure the continued success and response of our service to the changing, and challenging, healthcare environment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.

**PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early***
