Shift pattern for this post is within Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Applications are invited for a highly experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the role of Interim Professional Lead for the North East Area Adult Mental Health Psychology Service. The role and remit of the post extends to professional leadership within adult mental health services Glasgow City HSCP North East Sector (Community and Inpatient Services), part of East Dunbartonshire HSCP.

The postholder will operate as a member of the North East Sector Senior Management Team in leading the overall development of Psychology within those services, including long term strategic planning, workforce planning and staff development. The postholder will provide leadership for all psychology staff across North East Area Adult Mental Health Services, including Primary Care Mental Health, Community Mental Health Teams, Inpatient Services, and associated specialist teams, ensuring systematic governance of psychological practice and providing management and oversight to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of the psychology resource, consistent with organisational priorities.

It is essential that candidates have a post-graduate doctoral-level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology. Post-doctoral training in additional specialised areas of psychological practice of an extensive and substantial nature and significant and upto-date experience of working as a Consultant Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in Adult Mental Health Services is essential. This post requires registration with the HCPC as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, and management training and leadership training.
