The shift pattern for this position is Mon – Sun, 37 hours, 11.5 hrs shifts or 7.5hrs shift pattern

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 HCSW to join the team at the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit, you would be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing holistic and person centred care for patients who have sustained a spinal cord injury.

You would work alongside a registered nurse providing rehabilitation skills to enhance recovery to enable a safe discharge from a hospital setting. The post holder will work within our MDT team, as the Registered Nurse for this service you will be expected to organise the workload priorities care and delegate appropriately to HCSW, adhering to NHSGGC policy and best practice.

This will include the delivery basic nursing care, assessment and review of the fundamental requirements when nursing a spinal injured patient, training and education will be delivered on how to manage spinal injuries.

You will be able to maintain good relationships and an empathetic approach to patients, carer’s and relatives. You will co-operate with and maintain good relationships with other disciplines to maximise patient care throughout the rehabilitation journey. Participate in personal career development planning to develop and maintain skills and personal growth through education and training.

Completion or working towards the HCSW competencies for Band 3 is essential, good standard of education and understanding of the HCSW code. A passion in care with compassionate attributes who want to make a difference is essential.

Rotational Shift Pattern (day shift and night shift 12 hour shift pattern, shorter shift pattern is negotiable
