A part time fixed term Healthcare Support Worker vacancy has arisen within the Dalrymple Ward, Galloway Community Hospital, Stranraer.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and driven individual to join Dalrymple Ward which is a 26 bedded ward, 24 beds for rehabilitation and a further two beds for palliative care patients.

The Healthcare Support Worker will complement our existing, highly motivated nursing team. You will need excellent communication skills both verbal and non-verbal and have the ability to be a team player. Also written and computer work skills are essential. You will be responsible for providing high quality person centred care to inpatients with a variety of health care needs.

An SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or previous experience of working within a health care assistant role would be an advantage.

The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly to meet the shift patterns to cover a 24 hour period. The individual must have an interest in older adult nursing and enjoy working in a busy and fast paced environment.
