This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Clinical, Counselling or Health psychologist to join a busy and vibrant chronic pain team in Glasgow. The pain service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest in Scotland, hosting mature services for those with persistent pain across all service levels and nationally. The successful candidate will work flexibly as part of multi-professional teams and provide both individual and group work. There are opportunities to be involved in service development, training and research.

As well as working in group and individual settings, you will be involved in MDT vetting and triage of patients referred to the service, and be expected to liaise and work with colleagues in mental health and Trauma services. An understanding of, and willingness to work with trauma within the context of pain management would be essential. You will support your colleagues in the MD team in developing and maintaining their psychosocial practice. You will attend weekly MD team meetings.

The post holder will be managed within the Acute Psychology Service, which comprises a large group of psychologists working across a range of clinical health and neuropsychology services. This provides the post holder with a supportive Psychology collegiate. This post will be based at Stobhill Hospital but please note that as you will be an integrated member of the Chronic pain MDT you will be required to work across sites. The Pain Management Programme is based at Lightburn Hospital.

You should demonstrate advanced theoretical and practical knowledge as a Clinical, Health or Counselling Psychologist which has been obtained through post-graduate doctoral level training in Clinical, Counselling or Health Psychology as accredited by BPS or HCPC including specifically models of psychopathology and two or more distinct psychological therapies. In addition to this, you should be HCPC registered as a Clinical, Counselling or Health Psychologist. The hours for this post are worked between Monday and Friday, 9am-5pm. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
