This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to lead the pharmaceutical care services to both Cardiology inpatients and outpatients in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) and support city wide cardiology service. Your key role will be in the development and growth of the pharmacy service to the rapid chest pain clinics across GG&C.

The Cardiology Pharmacy Team work with the Multidisciplinary Team in managing a defined inpatient case load, participation in weekly clinics and support the wider cardiology team

You will be an active member of the Multidisciplinary Team, advising and promoting the safe effective use of medicines and supporting a rotational band 7 Pharmacist and band 5 Clinical Technician. You will work closely with Lead Clinical Pharmacists for Medicine, Advanced Pharmacists in other specialties and the MDT to provide a constant, equitable, high quality clinical pharmacy service.

You should have a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, have a post graduate diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent qualification, be an Independent Prescriber and have experience of tutoring/mentoring. Membership of the Faculty of Royal Pharmaceutical Society or working towards is advantageous but not essential.

You should have a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience. Your experience will have been gained working in a patient focussed environment using your knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines including experience of undertaking research and/or audit. Experience of working within a Cardiology service is essential. Excellent management and communication skills with a flexible approach to working are essential to the role. You will be expected to participate in a 5/7 day working pattern, weekend working, Public Holiday service, and on-call.

The role is an Advanced Pharmacist Cardiology at GRI but will also be required to deputise for the Lead Clinical Pharmacist of Medicine on occasions, including cross site cover for other Cardiology Pharmacists .

Rapidly expanding cycle networks, world class restaurants and buzzing night life are just a few of the things you can expect, not to mention some of the most beautiful scenery in the world barely half an hour away in Loch Lomond National Park.
