This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team of consultant nephrologists at the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Renal and Transplant Unit. Based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow you will work within a team of consultants providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient nephrology, acute transplant nephrology and supportive care services to the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Region. This is an 8 session post available from 1st May 2025.
The Acute Services Division of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is the largest group of adult acute hospitals in Scotland. The Division provides Renal Services for Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Forth Valley Health Boards along with Renal Transplant Services for the West of Scotland. The Glasgow Renal and Transplant Unit has 65 inpatient beds at QEUH and currently supports approximately 600 haemodialysis patients, 50 peritoneal dialysis patients, 1400 kidney transplant patients and more than 200 patients per year with acute kidney injury requiring kidney replacement therapy. Around 150 kidney transplants are performed in the unit each year.
