North of Scotland Innovation Programme Lead

An exciting opportunity exists to secure the role of North of Scotland Regional Innovation Programme Lead.
Your role will be to provide strategic and operational leadership and coordination across the six North of Scotland health boards. You will be accountable for directing a high profile range of innovation programmes focused on evaluating the extent to which emerging technology can improve health and social care delivery challenges.
Some key tasks including regional facilitation to increase:
- Commissions exploring innovative technological solutions for major care delivery and sustainability challenges across our boards
- Market analysis and evidence reviews to topic areas of most importance to the North of Scotland chief executives
- Prioritisation of applications to UK-wide funding bodies to topic areas of highest concern to the North of Scotland and beyond
- Access to general expertise in innovation
You will work closely with the North of Scotland senior leadership innovation team, North of Scotland board chief executives, Chief Scientist Office and North of Scotland regional planning director. The post holder will be expected to influence multiple senior clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, and professional groups at a board, regional and national level. Engaging academic and industry partners will be a core activity.
You will be a dynamic and visionary leader, with excellent multi-disciplinary working skills. You will understand the nature of the innovation life cycle, and be at home working skilfully within an environment characterised by changing priorities and uncertainty. You will have demonstrable expertise in test-bedding innovation in the NHS, an in-depth understanding of programme management and be fully conversant with improvement methodologies.
This post is offered as a fixed term or secondment opportunity. NHS Grampian will host this post. There will be a requirement for travel given the remit of the post.
