An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a full-time Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist within the North Glasgow Haematology & Blood Transfusion Department.

The successful applicant will be required to work a 24/7 shift over 7 days at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) , and rotate between GRI and Gartnavel General Hospital (GGH) Minimum Qualifications for the posts are outlined below:


Must have an appropriate BSc Honours degree or equivalent, acceptable for Health Professions Council Registration.

  • Must be registered to practice as a Biomedical Scientist with the HCPC.
  • Must have significant post registration experience in a Haematology/Transfusion laboratory.
  • Must possess either an MSc or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma in a relevant subject
