Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Operational Manager at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What you will do:

  • Manage the day to day aspects of in-patient bed allocation
  • Actively involved in the co-ordination and development of a strategic and operational framework for bed management which has implications for the service.
  • Establish and maintain excellent communications with all staff within each site to support maximum bed management efficiency.
  • Provide a service that ensures effective, efficient and responsive patient flow from the Emergency Departments to the Combined Assessment Unit and other Receiving Wards, and on to appropriate specialties.
  • To effectively deal with area closures ensuring that impact on patient services is not compromised.
  • Adhere to NHS Ayrshire & Arran bed management policies

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

  • You will be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Considerable post registration experience is essential.
  • You should be educated to degree level / hold a specialist qualification or have equivalent Clinical and Managerial experience.
  • Proven ability to expertly communicate information to all personnel, both written and verbal. Including negotiation, influencing and persuading. Facilitating conflict resolution and an ability to form positive working relationships and work strategically with others.
