An exciting position has opened up with the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Unit. The unit covers the areas of Angio theatre, Nuclear Medicine, CT, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy. It offers a variety of roles rotating through all the areas making it an interesting position.
We are looking for a positive and organised individual who has excellent communication skills and is able to quickly build a rapport with patients. The successful candidate will need to be caring and compassionate and must enjoy working with members of the public whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. They must be adaptable to be able to meet the demands of the service and enjoy working as part of a team.
We would encourage applications from those who have completed the flying start programme with at least one year post registration experience.
We are a small supportive department that works closely with the Medical team, Radiographers, Sonographers, Nuclear Medicine Technicians and Physiotherapists. Working our shifts over 4.5 days, we are open Monday to Friday 0830-1700. Days worked will vary to meet the needs of the service.
Training will be given to become a scrub nurse in Angio theatre, on radiation protection and on the various procedures requiring assistance in fluoroscopy, CT and Ultrasound.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
