Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a 70% of the top of Band 7 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 7 scale.


The Role

  • To work as an Advanced Practitioner within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team within the FNC+
  • To work as a Band 7 Advanced Practitioner to clinically review, prescribe, and formulate appropriate management plans (including direction of care) for patients NHSL wide, including referrals from GPs, SAS, NHS 24, Carehomes, Prisons, and others.
  • Liaise with staff in service
  • Report to FNC+ management team as appropriate and partake in working groups to improve patient care
  • Quarterly rotation to other services to maintain clinical skills and competence
  • Car Driver essential

  • Rotational shift pattern, 24/7, majority of shifts are nights/evenings/weekends

What we'll need you to bring

  • Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
  • Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
  • Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
  • Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
  • The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Car driver with full a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence

It would be great if you also have

  • Non-medical prescribing qualification

  • Undertaking non-medical prescribing qualification

  • Undertake mandatory online training e.g. violence and aggression; blood transfusion

  • Postgraduate expertise in speciality/area of practice that demonstrates required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently

  • Postgraduate experience transferrable to or in primary and community care

  • Evidence of management, education and training experience

  • Experience in a medical/surgical environment
