The NHS Highland Cardiac Physiology service is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Principal Cardiac Physiologist to lead and manage an experienced and dedicated team.
The post is one of two lead roles with joint responsibility for the service, this post is Non-Invasive Lead and principally responsible as lead specialist of the echocardiography service including day-to-day operational management, as well as overseeing other non-invasive physiology and support services.
This is an ideal opportunity for forward thinking physiologists to take up a leadership role and help shape the future of the Clinical Physiology Service in Highland.
Your personal contribution to the clinical service provision and education program for existing and new staff will be tailored to your experience and interests.
You should hold a BSc in Cardiac Physiology; although an equivalent qualification along with suitable knowledge training and experience may be acceptable. Registration with appropriate professional bodies including British Society of Echocardiography or equivalent is essential along with significant post-qualification clinical echocardiography practice.
Proven management, team leadership and service improvement experience is also desirable, although training and support could be provided to suitable candidates. A relocation package will also be made available.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
