The Healthcare Staffing Programme is looking for a National Clinical Lead for Emergency Care Provision to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the Health & Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019.

The Healthcare Staffing Programme (HSP) team are working with Health Boards across Scotland to support improvement in workload and workforce planning in line with Health and Care Staffing legislation. The post holder will work with a range of stakeholders to scope current workforce planning tools and methodologies utilised to inform current emergency services workforce planning. In addition, the post holder will provide expert senior leadership for the development, testing and implementation of the Emergency Care Provision staffing level tool for services across Scotland, considering the need for multi-professional approaches and digital solutions to reduce the data capture burden. The role will provide key clinical leadership and expertise to the Emergency Care Provision Staffing Level Tool development.

The key outcome of this work is to enable workforce decisions that will ensure that at all times, suitably qualified and competent individuals from a range of professional disciplines, are working in such numbers as are appropriate for the health, wellbeing and safety of patients or service users, and the provision of high-quality health care for individuals across Scotland.

We are looking for a National Clinical Lead with strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills as well as expert working knowledge in emergency department services workload and workforce planning. The post holder must have an ability to devise, implement and monitor a range of engagement strategies to ensure multi-professionals and various Professional Bodies across Scotland are actively engaged to support the work of the Emergency Care Provision tool development.
