NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior individual to lead the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Healthcare Charity. Educated to degree standard or with equivalent professional experience the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective development and delivery of the Charity’s strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as the management, development, and evaluation of a large portfolio of funding programmes. This role involves overseeing the management and governance of the Charity’s funds and building strong and effective relationships with Trustees, Healthcare Charity Committee and fundholders. The successful candidate will report on a day to day basis to the Assistant Director of Finance and be based at Caledonia House, Cardonald Park.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a charity strategy in line with trustees’ direction to meet the strategic aims and objectives of the charity and engage effectively with the Board of Trustees and Healthcare Charity Committee.
- Engage and communicate effectively with all fundholders, providing appropriate training and guidance on charity legislation and requirements
- Collaborate with the finance administrative team and key stakeholders to deliver charity objectives
- Oversee all aspects of the grant operation from pre-award to post-award stage, ensuring effective processes and procedures are in place.
- Lead the development of evaluation policy frameworks and ensure the evaluation of impact across all the Charity’s funding programmes Qualifications and Experience:
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent professional experience is essential and an MBA is desirable.
- Senior level experience in charity strategy, project management, grants management and administration, developing and implementing effective grant programmes or projects, report writing, and impactful evaluations. Skills:
- Strong leadership and coordination skills, excellent literacy, communication and presentation skills, and high degree of numeracy and analytical skills.
- Creative thinker and problem solver, able to horizon scan and spot and nurture innovative and good ideas.
- Excellent report designing and writing skills, and able to coach others in writing quality proposals and evaluation reports.
- Strong organisational skills to manage a varied workload and ensure competing priorities are achieved to agreed timescales.
- Good IT skills.
