Supporting Your Career Journey
As a Newly Qualified Nurse or Midwife, your first year in post will be a time of transition, support, and growth. You’ll be enrolled in our Newly Qualified Nurse/Midwife Programme, designed to help you shift from pre-registered student to a confident, capable, and qualified health professional.
This comprehensive programme includes:
- Corporate and specialist induction
- A preceptorship period
- Clinical supervision sessions
- Flying Start Scotland, the national development programme for all newly qualified nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.
As a Band 5 Nurse/Midwife, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with fantastic nursing colleagues. You’ll receive day-to-day guidance from your peers, Senior Charge Nurse/Midwives, Nurse Team Leads, and Lead Nurses/Midwives, ensuring you feel supported at every stage of your journey.
Our Clinical Nurse Education Team is dedicated to supporting your clinical development, encouraging you to progress in your knowledge, skills, and career aspirations.
