Post Title: Senior Dental Officer – Prison Health Care (Priority & Vulnerable Groups) (1 post)
Base: Barlinnie Prison
The Public Dental Service (PDS) provides dental care in the 3 prisons within NHS GGC; HMP Barlinnie, HMP Low Moss and HMP Greenock.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to the post of Senior Dental Officer (Priority and Vulnerable Groups) within Prison Health Care to support the clinical management and treatment of prisoners. This post sits within the Public Dental Service (PDS), NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
The successful candidate will be involved in the treatment of these complex and vulnerable patients utilising a full range of primary care clinical techniques.
The post holder must be registered with the General Dental Council as a dentist.
The successful applicants will be expected to have regular contact with a range of partners including:
- PDS staff
- Prison Health care colleagues
- Scottish Prison Service
- Secondary Care Dental colleagues
- Oral Health Improvement Teams
The post holder will be required to work 18.75 hrs per week to provide clinical care and leadership within their remit to others within the service this may include work within other prison establishments within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
