Have you got a construction and maintenance background and looking for a new career and good staff motivator? At NHS Highland we have a full-time vacancy within our Estates Department for a Senior Operations Manager to provide support to the Head of Estates Operations overseeing work in properties all over North Highland. The successful candidate enthusiastic and motivated individual able to react and think quickly on how to deal with breakdowns within the NHSH estate, manage small scale projects and efficiently arrange for contractors or in house trades teams to carry out maintenance work safely. The post is primarily based at Raigmore, however, there may be a requirement to travel to sites all over NHSH. The position will require effective management, quick reactions to critical faults and the ability to prioritise work on a daily basis to contribute to the provision of excellent patient care. What we are looking for - experience of managing and motivating a large team, and a commitment to delivering services effective & efficiently which can be at times out with normal working hours. A working knowledge and experience of the SHTM’s within Healthcare is preferred Experience within a health care environment would be advantageous. A current UK driving licence is essential. Applicants must have recognised qualifications as detailed in the job description. . We are looking for a great team player who is self-motivated with a flexible approach to work which is essential as variations to the standard working week may be necessary. You should be willing to participate in the 1:6 on-call rota. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
