We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Band 5 Staff Nurse/ODP to join our Ophthalmology Perioperative Team at the National Treatment Centre - Highland (NTC).

About the Role: In this exciting role, you will become a key member of our dedicated Ophthalmology team, scrubbing for all Ophthalmology procedures while delivering exceptional care to our patients. While Ophthalmology experience is preferential, we are happy to provide training to the right candidate if needed. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to expand their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

About the National Treatment Centre - Highland: The NTC-H is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that provides top-quality care to both Ophthalmology and Orthopaedic patients. Located within the University Campus of the City, the Centre features:

  • 5 theatres
  • A 24-bedded ward
  • A dedicated Ophthalmology Outpatient Department

We are proud to have 2.6 dedicated Ophthalmology theatres to deliver specialised care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scrubbing for a wide range of Ophthalmology procedures
  • Working as part of a passionate and skilled Ophthalmology team
  • Ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety at all times

Key Requirements:

  • Ophthalmology experience is preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
  • A desire to work within a forward-thinking team

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
