About the Organisation:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Primary and Community Care (PaCC) Directorate at NHS National Services Scotland and to help improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.
As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland (NHS NSS) works in partnership with a wide range of organisations - NHS clinicians and management, government, Health and Social Care Integration Bodies, Family Health Services contractors, local authorities, voluntary organisations, academia and many others.
Practitioner Services processes claims and issues payments to all Primary Care Contractors in Scotland on behalf of NHS Boards; General Medical Practitioners, General Dental Practitioners, General Ophthalmic Practitioners and Community Pharmacists. On behalf of the National Health Service in Scotland, Practitioner Services administer contracts worth over £2.3 billion.
The Post:
We currently have a vacancy within the Customer Services team for a Customer Service Officer. The team provides support to General Dental Practitioners, the Public Dental Service, Opticians and Health Boards across Scotland ensuring a high quality of service which meets the needs of our customers. We act as a communications link between internal Dental & Ophthalmic teams and the profession, sharing stakeholder feedback and taking forward initiatives for the continual development of our services.
The Candidate:
The post-holder will be educated to HND level and possess relevant experience in a Customer Services environment, or be working towards an HND in Business Administration/Marketing or a related field or have significant experience of working in a customer services environment. The successful candidate will be an excellent, confident communicator and will be able to deal with a range of people using a variety of communication methods. They will have the ability to define and explain problems and issues, and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. The post-holder will be required to work both as part of a team and on their own, and must display the ability to show initiative and prioritise work. An excellent customer focus is essential along with the ability to handle challenging customers. Knowledge of other Practitioner Services functions is advantageous.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Please be aware due to the nature of the role, no part time or compressed hours can be accommodated.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
