The shift pattern for this position is Monday, 7.00am – 11.20am, Tuesday, 7.00am – 11.10am, Wednesday, 7.00am – 11.10am.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

The Caretaker/Maintenance assistant is responsible for providing an effective maintenance and portering service, ensuring that the environment is kept clean and hazard free. They are responsible for general maintenance duties and minor new work.

After initial induction and on the job training to allow them to carry out these duties, the post holder will work with little supervision although guidance and assistance is available from supervisor / line manager on a daily basis. The post holder has a responsibility for building security. Post holder may be required to cover caretaking duties at other sites within the North West Sector as required.

Liaison is required with internal departments, external contractors, General Practitioners and all users of the premises.

No formal qualifications are required as on the job training and induction will be provided however, it is essential that you are competent in:

  • carrying out minor works
  • have good written and verbal communication skills able to work as part of a team follow protocols
  • prioritise your workload and be flexible
  • Experience of minor maintenance, caretaking or portering is desirable, as are keyboard skills and data input experience.
